Returned home yesterday and already booked a return visit as we loved it so much!!
Filey is a place very close to my Mums heart, with this hotel also having a special meaning for her so I surprised her with a mother-daughter trip for her Christmas present!
We had a 1 night stay in one of the Balcony Sea View rooms which was just perfect. So clean and had everything you required for the stay. Felt like home from home, so much so we didn’t want to leave!
Arrived Sunday and had Sunday lunch before check in, highly recommend!! Lovely food and great service. We were shown to a table away from the window, but asked if we could possibly sit next to the window to enjoy the views and the staff were very accommodating. I would request this when booking next time now I know. Food was delicious, good portion sizes and very good value for money. We both had 3 courses and a bottle of wine to share. It was a perfect start to our stay.
We had a few drinks in the lovely bar in the evening. Great selection of drinks and a lovely warm atmosphere. You could really tell the barman took pride in his job. We’re hoping on our return trip we may be able to enjoy the outdoor terrace for a drink in the evening too if the weather is a little better.
Breakfast was delicious!!! You MUST try the homemade granola, I’m still thinking about it now!! Again great service and food, nothing too much trouble.
We paid a little bit extra to reserve one of the parking spaces right outside the hotel which worked perfectly for us.
All in all, a perfect stay! Can’t wait to go back and experience it all again!!
