Progressive – Room 27
Our rooms are named after Filey fishing Cobles – both historic and current. There’s an interesting story and a history behind each name.
“Windsor Lad” for instance was named after the race horse that a lucky fisherman backed to win – and funded the purchase of his new Coble, “Sarah Jane” was named for the owners two daughters. Recently refurbished “Margaret” can still be seen on the Coble Landing today.
We are pleased to welcome dogs in our first floor rooms. Well behaved dogs are also welcomed in the Lounge at all times but are not permitted in the Dining Room or Terrace at any time. Dogs are permitted in the Bar as long as people are not eating.
To promote guest comfort we have a passenger lift to all floors. Guests with mobility difficulties or in wheelchairs should request second floor accommodation as these rooms are accessible straight out of the Lift. On the first floor there are four small steps out of the lift to access the bedroom corridor – for ease these steps have banisters to aid the less mobile.
Our lift is three foot square which is large enough to accommodate most standard wheelchairs. Guests in wheel chairs with leg extensions or with double wheels may need to check that these are removable to access the lift.
We have a slope for access into the ground floor of the building and a passenger lift to both floors to aid those people with restricted mobility.
We regret that we do not have specifically fitted bedrooms for the use of disabled guests – we have no hoists or lifts to aid the physically impaired and we do not have facilities in room to aid those with hearing or visual disabilities. We do have grab rails in all the bathrooms designed to assist guests, wide doors in several second floor rooms to permit access to those in wheelchairs and a genuine care and concern amongst all the staff to make all guests feel welcome and assist them in any way that they can.
We have three grades of room
• Delux Sea View – Rooms with views of the Sea – some on the first floor have balconies. All have Digital flat screen TV and WIFI
• “Midship” Rooms – Park View or small sea view rooms with high levels of comfort
• “Club Deck” Rooms – Comfortable rooms with restricted views
