Filey is one of the few remaining unspoilt resorts on the East Coast, enjoying a well deserved reputation for cleanliness, both of the beaches and the town, and offering a quiet, peaceful environment for any corporate event or business meeting.
Filey is located on the coast between the larger tourist centres of Scarborough and Bridlington. It is located off the A165 which is easily approached from the A1 and York via the A64, from the southern motorway network via the M18/M62, Driffield and Bridlington, and from the north via Thirsk and Scarborough.
Approximate travelling times by road to Filey are as follows:
York 1 hour
Leeds 1 ½ hours
Manchester 2 ½ hours
Newcastle 2 ¾ hours
Sheffield 2 hours
Hull 1 hour
Filey is on the rail network from Scarborough to Hull. GNER trains from Kings Cross to York, with connections to Scarborough, give rapid access to the area from London at all times of the day.
A resort appealing to all ages, attractions range from the nature trail on the famous Brigg to the Hotels own “pub crawl quiz”, from angling parties from the Coble Landing to jet skiing in the bay and from easy walking on the promenade to swimming or relaxing on the glorious sandy beach. Golfers will find the challenging course at Filey Golf Club nearby or the championship course at Ganton just a short drive away. Tennis, bowling and many other sporting facilities are also readily available to visitors to the area.
The hotel reception staff will be happy to advise on local events and the attractions on offer at the theatres and cinemas in the area - including the famous Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough. They will also be happy to make any sporting or entertainment bookings that you may require to complete the enjoyment of your corporate event at The White Lodge Hotel.
